Educational Opportunities

High school students interested in healthcare careers now have a new pathway to jumpstart their education through a partnership between Wyoming County Healthcare Center and Lackawanna College. This initiative offers dual enrollment opportunities to students from Elk Lake, Tunkhannock, Lackawanna Trail, and Wyalusing, allowing them to earn college credits while still in high school.

 

Through this collaboration, students can take college-level healthcare courses, gaining valuable knowledge and experience in fields such as nursing, medical assisting, emergency medical services, and other allied health professions. These courses provide an early introduction to critical skills, industry expectations, and career pathways, helping students prepare for higher education and the workforce.

 

By participating in dual enrollment, students not only save on tuition costs but also gain a competitive advantage as they transition into healthcare degree programs or direct employment in the medical field.
