A must-attend session for anyone ready to take charge of their health. ​ July 8, 2025 Vaping Addiction Vaping is on the rise among teens and young adults. Join experts from Pathway to Recovery for a candid discussion on the serious health risks associated with vaping, particularly for youth. Topics will include the impact of nicotine and THC on lung development, how vaping affects the adolescent brain, and the deceptive nature of many vape products, including flavored varieties and misleading nicotine levels. Attendees will also learn how to identify the different types of devices currently popular among teens. August 12, 2025 Emerging Trends in Teen Drug Use New drug trends are putting teens at risk in ways parents may not expect. Drug & Alcohol Prevention Specialist Cammie Anderson will share current data, warning signs, and strategies for prevention. This session is especially helpful for parents, educators, and youth-focused professionals. ​ September 9, 2025 Nutrition, Labels, and Food   Confused by food labels or struggling to make healthy choices at the grocery store? You’re not alone. In this eye-opening session, Donna LaBar will break down how to decode labels, identify hidden ingredients, and make practical food choices that support better health. ​ Whether you're working toward general wellness or managing pre-diabetes, diabetes, or using an insulin pump, this session will provide simple, actionable strategies tailored to real life.

This 12 month workshop series is designed to equip parents with evidence-based strategies to support their childre's emotional regulation, stress management, and resilience.  Each session iincludes a monrthlky topic, research backed techniques, interactive activities, and take home tools to reinforce learning at home.

October 10, 2025 Understanding Emotional Regulation Emotional regulation helps children understand, express, and manage feelings in healthy ways. Since young children are sill developing self-regualtion, they rely on parents and caregivers to help them navigae strong emotions. 

November 13, 2026 Glimmers and Triggers A child's nervous system contantly moves between stress and safety based on their surroindings. Recongizing what triggers stress and what creates calm can hlep parents prevent meltdowns and build emotional resilience.

December11, 2026 Mindfulness & Body Awareness Mindfulness teaches children how to focus on the present moment, helping them feel more in control of their emotions and bodies. Simple mindfulness techniques can reduce stress, improve attention, and support emotional regulation.

January 8, 2026 Managing Triggers and Creating a Calm Down Corner Young children need safe, predictable spaces to help them regulate emotions when they feel overwhelmed. A Calm-Down Corner provides a designated area where they can practice self-soothing using sensory tools and calming techniques.

February 12, 2026 Building Social Skills & Emotional Connection Strong social skills help children form healthy relationships, communicate effectively, and navigate conflicts with confidence. By teaching emotional connection and communication strategies, children can learn to express their feelings and understand others more effectively.

 

March12, 2026 Developing Self-Control & Managing Impulses Self-control helps children pause, think, and make thoughtful choices instead of reacting immediately. Developing impulse control allows children to solve problems, follow directions, and manage frustration more effectively.

April 9, 2026 Growth Mindset & Flexible Thinking A growth mindset helps children see challenges as opportunities to learn instead of obstacles. Teaching kids to think flexibly and explore different solutions builds problem solving skills, confidence, and resilience.

 

May 14, 2026 Sensory Regulation & Self Soothing Strategies Sensory regulation helps children calm their emotions using physical techniques like bilateral tapping, deep pressure, and grounding exercises. These strategies support self-soothing, reduce stress, and help children regain focus when feeling overwhelmed.

June 11, 2026 Developing Healthy Relationships & Communication Building strong relationships and effective communication skills helps children navigate friendships, express their emotions, and resolve conflicts in a positive way. By learning how to communicate their needs and listen to others, children can develop healthy social connections.

July 9, 2026 Sleep & Emotional Well-Being Sleep plays a crucial role in a child's emotional well-being, helping them regualte emotions, focus, and handle daily challenges. Teaching children about the importance of sleep and how to created healthy bedtime habits supports their overall ental health and resilience. 

August 13, 2026 Cognitive Restructuring - Teaching Kids to Reframe Negative Thoughts Cognitive restructuring helps children identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with more accurate or positive ones. At a young age, this looks like helping children shift from “I can’t do this” to “I can try my best.” Teaching this skill supports flexible thinking, emotional resilience, and confidence.

September 10 Fueling Our Bodies & Minds Good nutrition helps children feel their best, stay focused, and have the energy they need to play, learn, and grow. This month, children will explore how food fuels their bodies and minds and learn how to make balanced food choices.
