A cancer journey can feel overwhelming - but you don't have to walk it alone. Cancer and Healing offers a safe, supportive environment where stories are shared, strength is found, and hope is built through every experience.
Each month, we gather to explore topics that matter - whether it's emotional wellness, practical resources, or simply finding comfort in a community. Join us as we support one another, learn together, and build connections that heal.
Date: Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month from 5:00 - 6:00 PM.
Location: WCHC Meeting Room in the Main Lobby. Please use the rear parking lot entrance.

Sybilla Lenz Sybilla Lenz is a local Business Owner and has run a successful financial services practice for over 35 years. Sybilla is also personally experiencing a health challenge with cancer along with a family member and will be offering useful tools and tips for handling some of the challenges it brings. Diane Ogin, RN, BC-NC, Pathway to Peace & Wellness, LLC With 40 years of nursing experience and now as a Board Certified Nurse Coach, I am here to support you in achieving your optimal well-being, as you define it. Through a holistic approach, I guide you to tap into your inner wisdom and innate healing capacity—mind, body, and spirit. Nurse coaching empowers you to take charge of your journey. Together, we will explore your strengths, set meaningful goals, and address your health as a whole person, including your emotions, environment, values, and purpose. My role is to help you gain clarity, focus, and a fresh perspective to reach your health and wellness goals. We’ll work to reconnect with your inner strength, which has always been there, even if it’s been overshadowed by healthcare narratives. If you’ve ever felt out of control, struggled with your health, or felt weighed down, this is your opportunity to rediscover your path forward. Your diagnosis doesn’t define you, and the most important person in your life is you. I am honored to join Sybilla in creating and supporting this vibrant community as we walk with you on your journey to wellness. Thank you for supporting us as we support each other.

Low-impact movement and mindful stretching to release tension, improve mood, and reconnect with your body. Wear comfortable clothing; all abilities welcome. Dance offers significant mental health benefits by browsing brain power, reducing stress, and elevation of mood. It promotes physical health through improved motor function, strength, and flexibility.

An introduction to reiki as a light-touch (or no-touch) practice that may promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support overall well-being during and after treatment. Includes a brief demo and simple self-care tips to try at home.

Yoga is more than just movement—it’s a practice that unites the mind, body, and breath. For those impacted by cancer, yoga can serve as a gentle but powerful tool for healing and recovery. Guided by Gerri Simmers, this session will introduce participants to simple poses, mindful breathing, and relaxation techniques that can help reduce stress, ease treatment-related side effects, and improve overall well-being.
No prior yoga experience is required—Gerri’s approach is accessible to all levels. Participants will leave with practical tools to restore energy, strengthen resilience, and nurture a sense of calm and balance along their healing journey.

This month, Diane Ogin of Pathway to Peace & Wellness will lead an interactive session exploring holistic approaches to healing. With a focus on mind, body, and spirit, Diane will guide participants through practical techniques—such as mindfulness, stress reduction strategies, and self-care practices—that can help restore balance and resilience during the cancer journey. Attendees will leave with tools they can use every day to support both emotional and physical well-being.
August 13, 2025 | Neurographic Art
A meditative drawing process developed by psychotherapist Pavel Piskarev. Participants used expressive lines to release stress, explore emotions, and share healing through art. No previous experience required—emphasis was on the meaningful process, not the final artwork.
July 9, 2025 | Sound Therapy
Sound therapy uses vibration, rhythm, and tone to help the body and mind return to balance. From calming the nervous system to reducing stress and improving focus, sound can be a powerful tool for healing. Gentle instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, or chimes encourage relaxation, promote emotional release, and support overall well-being. Whether used on its own or alongside other practices, sound therapy provides a natural way to restore harmony and encourage the body’s innate ability to heal.
